KARRIE J. KOESEL

Karrie J. Koesel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Oregon.  Her research focuses on the comparative politics of contemporary China and Russia.   Her current project explores the emergence of civil society and the intersection of religion and politics in liberalizing authoritarian regimes.  Koesel received her Ph.D. in 2009 from Cornell University. She holds a BA from Drake University in International Relations and Russian Studies, and an MA from the University of Notre Dame in Political Science.
